!!!Please Welcome another member to The Bunny Lounge Family!!!

Alright, calm down, clam down. It is not a doe, as many of you would hope for. Hef is not fixed, he is an intact male and BL of Houseful of Rabbits kindly informed me that if I got a doe Hef would do bunny things to her and then she would think she is pregnant and then want nothing to do with Hef and she would keep going through false pregnancies so we aren't going to do that. Instead Hef's dad and I have rescued a 3 year old German Shepherd. She was at our local SPCA. This poor baby has clearly been abused or mistreated in someway, although we can not offically confrim that it is obvious. All the SPCA could us was that the dog catcher picked her up in the country. She has been labeled a "fearful dog" and we got paperwork about it. It was very sad as we approached the kennel she crawled on her belly to us. Can you picture that a 70 lb German Shepherd crawling towards little ol' me and hef's dad? Too sad! I think we knew she would be going home with us at that moment!
"I don't wanna be in a kennel, can I come home with you please?"
Unfortunately we did not get to bring her home yet. She is getting spayed today and having a hernia fixed and tomorrow night we will bring her home! I am hoping our brave, outgoing, friendly, Shadow the Dog will bring her out of her shell and we will be able to give her a great life! Oh and we are having a hard time thinking up a name for this beauty, any suggestions?
"Oh I can't wait to go home!"

What a lucky dog she is! Did they test at the shelter to see how she relates to other creatures, like rabbits? Bella might be a nice name, although you could always wait a while and see if interacting with her more provides inspiration for a name.

She kind of looks like a Savannah to me:) You guys are awesome for rescuing her!!! We have always loved shepherds and the one we have now we got as a puppy but she has that fearful, shy personality around folks she doesn't know, as long as you socialize alot all should be great, what a sweetie!!!!!!! I hope she adjusts well to your loving home and to Shadow and Heffy too:)

What a beauty! So glad she is going home with ya'll. I hope she fits in easily and perfectly. I would wait to see if she tell you a name, but maybe Hope since she was hoping for a better future? Or Baby, since she crawled towards you first? I know you'll find something perfect.

What a lucky break for a pretty dog! How do you keep from being worried sick for Hef, though? Bunnies have always been my reason to tell my husband we can't have a dog.

Ohhh how beautifullll!!!!!!! I think your home is going to be perfect for her. Shadow the Dog seems like such a great companion for a fearful dog. I get the impression that she's so friendly and even-tempered. This is SO exciting. and I LOVE SHEPHERDS!!!

She is beautiful and very lucky to have you guys. I know she will have a great life at the Bunny Lounge. Just be sure to take your time with her and Hef. Some dogs (and cats) get the idea fairly soon that rabbits are not food; others never seem to quite figure it out.

Tho you really should get Hef fixed! It's a very safe surgery for the boy bunnies.

Looking at that picture of her with her tongue lolling out made me think she should be called Panter! Maybe that's too strange? I agree Lucky is aso a good name!
Hope she settles in soon.
Oh and BTW LOVE the peanut butter cheesecake cake recipe. Yumsters
