How to lose the Holiday lbs!

Okay so here's our tip for losing the holiday lbs. On Dec 26th make a seemingly innocent dinner with food bought fresh for the christmas party and then inexplicably come down with food poisioning. It happened to myself and Hef's dad it wasn't pretty! Anyhow, here is our party in full swing. We were playing the "take away" game.

Here is Hef on christmas morning with his stocking. He was patiently waiting for his dad to get his coffee and get settled.

Hef of course opens his own presents which might have been the funniest part for him.

2 days to go

Yup, I skipped a day. I don't care I was downloading Julie & Julia. Goodness I love that movie, cracks me up. Hope you'll forgive me. The only one commenting is Rabbit's Guy anyhow, I suspect he'll forgive me. So in penance I am sharing a very rare ornament. This is the 2009 New Era Cap employee ornament. Sorry its so blurry. Hef's dad hung it way up on the top of the tree before I got a good shot.

Don't you know its wednesday too, and that means wild hare. Since I haven't had my house long enough to redecorate, I am going to change this slightly to showing of my new decoration items. Here is the latest and greatest. Its our christmas present from Shell at The Raspberry Rabbits. THANK YOU!

Todays ornament might be the best one yet! Handmade and sent to use by The Raspberry Rabbits' very own Shell. Hef probably would have approved but it didn't come with treats. This is a pretty big box for just that little ornament. The contents are going to be featured in this Wednesdays Wild Hare.

5 days ornaments got it?

Its a glass pear. Got ut? Moving on. I have finally been hit with the holiday stress. As you might recall on Christmas we are having our first real cocktail party here at the bunny lounge. It was all set, 8pm ready to go. Then today we get the phone call. "Could you start the party at 5pm?" NO! Apparently about 4 people are going to be by our house around 5pm and don't want to bother driving around. Now not a problem except that at 4pm I have to be at my familys christmas dinner. So it is a problem, a big one. Firstoff how rude is it to ask less then a week before the party that the party be 3 hours earlier? VERY! Second Hef's dad then suggests that he leave me at my grandmothers and he comes home and starts the party! Isn't that a nice christmas? NO! After much arguing now my 8pm cocktail party has been moved against my will to 6pm and I shall very little time with my own family so I can throw a cocktail party for Hef's dad's family. To quote Rabbit's guy "Whippity Doo"

This is probably the oldest ornament on our tree. Ever since I was very little I have loved wolves and huskys and sled dogs, things like that. When I was younger my mother worked in a Hallmark store and this was one of my gifts.

Since we are having our first real cocktail party on christmas today we went to the liquor store to stock up. Hef's dad is going to have a very merry christmas! P.S. Hef's dad was seen with a bag from Hef's moms favorite jewerly store. I'm going to have a very merry christmas too! :)

WOW 7 ornanments left!

Here we have a sweet little kinda looks like Hef bunny with a snowman. I will try to reinact this scene if we ever get enough snow. Hef's dad and I went to the wal-mart to get a toy for my nephew. YEESH was that a crazy place! I used to work at the wal-mart and got to critcizing the wal-mart with the cashier. Hef's dad was embrassed. The poor woman was cashing out in lawn and gardens and they weren't heating the section, she had to complain to OSHA! YIKES! And yes I always call it the wal-mart, not just wal-mart. FINALLY my christmas shopping is done!

9 days of Ornaments!

Today I picked this Lobster ornament. I looooovvvveee lobster! I never ate lobster until I met Hef's dad. On our second date he took me to Red Lobster and I have been hooked. I would like a lobster right now. Yesterday I recieved my first christmas gift. It was a set of cooking dvds from my dad. I watched them cook a lobster, now I want one.

10 Days Left! 10 Ornaments!

This is one of my favorites. I bought it a few years ago before I had my own tree and just let it sit out. Obviously, you can see it winds up. Thumper's foot starts thumping when it winds up. Although I never understood why he thumped his foot. As we all know thumping is to indicate danger. Is she a dangerous lady bunny? Maybe Thumper knows love hurts. Maybe she has rabies. I don't get it. It sure is cute though.

Okay, I guess you can't read this very well but it says new home. I am very glad that we were able to buy a new home ornament this year! YAY NOT LIVING WITH MY PARENTS!

12 Days of Ornaments

Because we here at the bunny lounge are planning a REAL LIVE cocktail party this Christmas we are going to take the easy way out of blogging and show you our 12 favorite ornaments!

This one I just bought yesterday! It was super hard to find one that really looked like Shadow the Dog but we did it and I am thrilled!

We're going to 7! AND SNOW!

We bought our new laptop at that funky time when the upgrade was known but wasn't out yet. So we had to play the paperwork game (not as tasty as it sounds) and finally got our cds and updated today. We'll let you know how it goes!

In other news, if you watch the news, I bet you have heard about the GREAT BIG SNOWSTORM hitting Western New York & Buffalo today. Well take a look at all the snow!

Shadow the Dog says "This is all ya got?" Now let us explain we are north of Buffalo. Hef's dad works in downtown Buffalo and it is about a 20 minute drive. We have had a lot of high winds but no damage thank goodness. Hef's dad used to live in Orchard Park which is about 20 minutes south of Buffalo. This is where all the snow is today and usually is every winter. Hef's dad is getting annoyed he wants to use his snowblower. I am getting annoyed hearin about the snowblower. Also I think Cadbury over at Diary of a (Slow) Triathlete has had more snow then us so far!

We're ready for christmas!

For some reason it wasn't easy to find a stocking with the letter E on it. S, fine, H you got it, and A for Hef's dad was in abundance but we finally got it! Hef, Hef's Dad and Shadow the Dog's stockings are full. What's mine? EMPTY! Hef's dad is a last minute shopper! I only have two gifts left to buy, I'm happy with that.

GUESS WHAT I GOT! By Hef!

Guess what Mom and Dad got me?! Its the coolest toy ever! It's great for climbing and chewing and smells nice. Shadow the Dog was jealous I got to climb it and she didn't.

It's also a great perch for watching christmas specials and waiting for Santa.Even Shadow likes it!

Wild Hare Wednesday

Back when Hef was poor little Hef living in a basement and Hef's mom was living with Hef's grandma this is what Hef's mom's room usually looked like. And when a wild hare would strike it would get shaped up into this:
Ok its old photos and its not a long post but I worked all day and we ran out of hamburgers 8 times! 8 times! Please hold for your sandwich we can't even cook enough meat! UGH! Go watch christmas specials and stop picking on my wild hare.

ACK! BLECK! Look out! This is a bad bad sight! It was worse then Racer in jail! Worse then Mario's cilantro-stache! The worst! Be prepared for a shock! Make sure you sit down!

Let there be light!

First off, sadly Kitty has moved on to a new home. Her new home sounds great but we will miss her.

Yes! We have put up our lights. We actually did it last week because it

was very warm. Kitty was still here then and actually jumped out the window on to the roof! Here is Hef's dad high up on the roof.Then he got carried away and decorated Shadow the Dog. We decided not to try this with Hef, I'll let you guess why.

Hef's thankful for...

Dried Cranberries and Jellied Cranberries and Solid Pack Pumpkin, oh my!

We are very thankful for everything that has happened in the past year. Especially the new above ground real bedroom bunny lounge! We are also thankful for all our new blog followers and friends we have made. We're making a pumpkin pie and someone else is doing all the other cooking! YAY! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBUN!!!

Unfortunately....ACHOO!

Yup, there is a lot of sneezing going around. I have a cold. Hef's dad, very sadly appears to be allergic to cats. So our kitty visitor has to go. Its tough, since I have grown up with cats all my life it was nice having one around again. We are currently trying to find her a good home. Hef's dad is also sad to see her go and she would have been a welcome addition to the bunny lounge if it were possible. On the bright side Hef sees this as time to start asking for a doe again.

Going onto Day 3

Ack. I don't even have lunch today. I might have to eat the food!

Todays observation is a simple one and I am surprised how often it happens.

Observation #4. Do not ask me what the food is like. Don't ask if its fresh. Several of the people standing right over there are managers. I am going to tell you everything is fresh even if it has been sitting behind the counter longer then I have. Now fries ok I get it. Fries take about 2 minutes so fine order the fresh fries. DO NOT order the fresh CHICKEN and be appauled that you have to wait 8 minutes for it. Also DO NOT ask for free food because you asked to wait

Observation #4b What's good here? Do you know how sore my tongue is from this question? I am biting my tongue not to say "Try a small salad and a small diet coke then walk a couple miles, your heart will thank you" I eat the salad, the chili and the chicken, if its grilled. Also I don't eat that often so you figure out whats good. I don't know what it takes to get to be 400 lbs.

"BLECK! I ATE THE TRIPLE BACON DELUXE!"

Yup thats 1030 calories, 570 from fat, not good for a bunny.

Bleck! Wendys!

So I've kinda accepted/settled in to my routine at work. Then they change it. I am working every day this week so I'll be sharing some observations that I find funny
Observation #1 At least its not Taco Bell. What with their "Think Outside the Bun" Slogan. You should always think about the bun. Unless you are driving home with a lot of treats for the bun then pay attention to the road.
Observation #2 THERE IS NO REGULAR SIZE! Ok you order a medium every time great, I don't know that and I don't intend to remember that. Someone else's "regular" is a Small ok? Step Up and know your size!
Observation #3 If you order a sandwich that has 1200 calories with a large fry it doesn't matter if you get regular or diet coke, your going to get fat anyhow.
Observation #4 Just because you are not adventurous and order the same thing everyday doesn't mean I will memorize that order. I forget you as soon as you walk away.

Still Lounging

Kitty kat is still here. Between playing with her and Hef and Shadow the Dog and Hef's dad we just haven't been able to post. Shadow the Dog and I just took a 2.5 mile walk, we're feeling good. Kitty is fitting in well. She likes Hef (#1 requirement if your joining this family) and has stopped hissing at Shadow the Dog most of the time. Meow!

Animal House

Today was an unusual Saturday at The Bunny Lounge. Instead of Hef's usual bunny customers we had a diffrent type show up. A calico cat to be exact. She was lured to me with imitation lobster and is now the first official overnight guest of The Bunny Lounge.

"The cage is taken, you can have the floor,"

We are currently searching for owners but she is welcome to say if that doesn't happen. She is very sweet, a little intimidated by Shadow the Dog, but she hasn't tried to swipe at her. As you can see She and Hef are getting along great and enjoy sitting still together. So if you bunnies are feeling adventerous tonight we are serving for the first time Catnip Mojitos.

Gifts for Everyone

That's my weakness. I am one of those people that always buys gifts for people. Little things I think they will like or big things for birthdays. I've shown my gifts all wrapped up before. I always spend too much at Christmas, but its fun. Recently the furry kids recieved gifts. Shadow the Dog recieved a nice big bone so she wouldn't keep going to the door on Halloween. (Didn't work btw) But Hef got a very cool retro metal Cosmpolitons sign. Right now its in the living room but will eventually make its way into the bunny lounge. Lucky Bun!

P.S. Hef's dad got gifts too, he wanted a funnel and two electrical cords? Why no pictures? His gifts are too boring.

Eye for Deals

Thank you, my eye has recovered well. I don't know what caused it but its all better now. Later today is the big test of putting a contact in.

Yesterday morning I was making Hef's Dad's breakfeast. Ran out of milk, ran out of eggs. So off we went to the grocery store.There was a lot of stuff marked down on clearance. Hillshire farm turkey was marked down to 88 cents a pack, and bologna was only 75 cents. Jennie-O turkey italian sausage 5 packs were marked down to 1.72. Then there was these Bob Evans breakfeast burritos marked down to 95 cents and I had a dollar off coupon so those were free! Also we got two bags of tortilla chips and a jar of salsa for only 3.99. We also got a Salmon steak for only 2.32! Bonuscard Savings: 47.39 Coupon Savings: 13.69 Special Today Savings: 12.70 Total Savings: 73.78

Hef says: My mama's blind!!

OK well Mama's not blind but she has an eye problem. It's her left eye. It looks like someone took Mama's picture with the camera and she has permanent red eye. She can't wear her contacts and her only glasses are about ten years old. She called off the works today. This is my impression:

Halloween PhotosYou

Have you ever tried to get two people to pose together and take a nice picture? Tough, I know. Well try dressing up a dog and a rabbit in costumes and getting a good picture. It ain't gunna happen. Someones gunna have weirdo eyes...

Or be looking the wrong way.... But not Hef. Shadow the Dog can't pose for diddly in a costume next to a rabbit. That's the nice thing about rabbits, they can be very still. In case you can't tell Hef is a Devil (of course teehee) and Shadow the Dog is an angel who kept knocking off her halo.

Sibling Rivalry

Shadow the Dog is a typical dog. She loves attention. She gets jealous when The Hef has attention. Case and point last night I had Hef on the bed for some blanket digging. Here's what insued:

Shadow the Dog was on the floor in her bed but realized what was going on and wouldn't let Hef take all the attention.

But hey Hef's a bun and a bun doesn't take a dog stealing their attention laying down.

So we are supposed to share 7 things about ourself that you don't know? That's tough, here goes:

1. I do not like plain chocolate very much but could eat filled chocolates (creams and nuts, etc.) all day long.

2. I was not one of those kids who dreamed of their wedding, but I have become wedding obssesed since meeting Hef's dad.

3. I would move to NYC in a second.

4. I want to be on a game show, preferabbly Wheel of Fortune or The Price is Right.

5. I don't like Eggs.

6. I cook eggs every saturday and sunday for Hef's dad.

7. When Hef's dad took me to see Michael Buble in concert, I cried.

Sweetest of Days

We ment to post this yesterday. However we were having such a nice sweetest day we lost all track of time and didn't.

First we cashed my paycheck which is always nice. Then Hef's dad got a good deal on a used snowblower.
After that we went to East Aurora NY. Its cute little town with one main street that we walked through and had a nice meal.
Then we came home had champagne and chocolates and watched Meet the Parents. I love the cat in that movie!
