Just a warning...

I wanted to warn everyone about the very crappy and very upsetting trip I had to get an oil change today. I went to Goodyear Auto Service Center, and I think they are nationwide so I wanted to share this with everyone, especially since most of you are women.
They came out and called my name and I thought it was done instead they tell me my oil plug is stripped and they are having problems with it. Then they go on to say that I will probably need a new oil pan which is $250 for labor. They start... blaming whoever did the last oil change. Now this is my first oil change since I got the car from my Gram, and she went to a really good place so I find it hard to believe they stripped it. So I tell the man I can't afford that and to just do the oil change. He says he can't, the car will leak oil. I say I understand that, but I can't pay for that. Then he tells me to call my dad to get the money, and he can "try" to get the plug off. So I call Hef's Dad and tell them, so he calls the shop. As soon as they get Hef's Dad on the phone its all "oh oh its just a plug, its twenty dollars" so thats what they do. As I am checking out the man says "I was talking to your dad," so I said "That was my husband" (I say husband sometimes when boyfriend doesn't seem right) and he was "Oh!" Yeah, buddy I'm not like 16 so cut the crap. In the ended it took about an hour and twenty minutes to get a freaking oil change and cost me double.
Beware!

UGH! So sorry that happened to you. I always go to Walmart for oil change cause i can shop (even though i hate walmart i'm a target girl through and through) but they never try to take advantage even though i am a woman and i sound 6 years old and have NO clue about cars.

Just reading that makes my fists clench. I HATE when repair shops do stuff like that--I stopped going to one place because they would treat me like dirt, but they'd kiss hubby's behind, never mind that I know more about cars than he does. I go to a local shop for my oil changes and they always treat me with respect.

I would have waited till I got my car back and then stood in the lobby and let every customer that came in know just what kind of treatment I received and that apparently women should not go there for oil changes unless they bring their dad!!!! I'm small, but I can have a really big mouth!

That is so typical! Geesh! I am so fortunate to have an awesome mechanic in the family and he takes care of all our cars. Would be so lost without him!

I think the guys who can't work on the cars, sell them and treat women just as bad or worse! Sic Hef on 'em! Nobody messes with a bunny's mamma!

That just sucks! I would find a way to get even.

And I LOVE the picture of little Hef. I've missed him.
