Be afraid!

Hef's Dad and I have been working hard on our deck. The previous owners had used an oil based deck paint that had started to peel, also we weren't fond of the color. We tried a chemical stripper, a Wagner Painteater machine, and a belt sander. The most success is with the belt sander. Somehow Hef got ahold of the belt sander. Be afraid!

"I'm afraid, Mama!" Don't worry Hef, its not plugged in!
Here is what it looked like after Hef's dad sanded. We are now painting all the leftover red spots with white paint and will be staining the wood with a semi-transperant teak stain. It's looking very nice, I'll keep you updated.

LOL, he *does* look rather intimidating with that sander, but oh so sweet peekin' out of the cinder block:)

Aww, How do you get Hef to always pose so nicely with all of your little blog "props"? Seems like whatever you are sharing with us, Hef sits on it or next to it long enough for you to take a picture, AND looks at the camera?!?!?!

I can see why he's scared, that is one dangerous looking device. But your deck looks SO much better already!!! Nice work!

No worries Hef man..mama has your back!
The deck should look wonderful when you are done. I can't wait to see pictures.
Also wanted to tell you that even though I wanted to puke over your eating of the baby cow in the previous post, I did totally flip out over the gorgeous fleu de li plate!! Now that was fabulous! Minus dead baby cow of course. ;)
