Hef is on the move!

"Ok Mama, I'm driving!"

"NO! Not the passenger seat!"

"I  tottally got this, you just handle the peddles,"

"What do you mean we're not really going anywhere?"
Now  that I've lured you in with some nice Hef shots, time to vent. Did I mention that I am being promoted at work? I am either going to be a shift manager or an assistant manager! At first the promotion was for shift manager but one of the assistant managers is quitting so I might get bumped up to that. Of course this has started to cause some problems at work. It appears a few girls are a bit unhappy that I am serious about being a manager and it's not going to be party time on my shift. Now as a chef in my own home I take my food seriously. Right now I won't eat at work, not because I don't like fast food but because I don't like what I see from employees. So these girls asked me what I was going to do as a manager and I told them, stop using your cell phones when your on a seccurity camera, stop wearing food prep gloves and using your phone and oh please wash your hands after going outside and smoking! Aren't I a crazy mean soon to be manager?

Hef is too cute...looks like he's really enjoying the driving lesson hehe...

Sorry that the promotion at work is causing tension with other employees. I hope things settle over time.

Congratulations! When I have to enforce unpopular policies, I usually approach it in the context that I know it's a PITA, but I didn't write the rule/law/policy. If there's anything I can do to make it a little easier to comply...

That's great to see Hef trying to broaden his horizons, but hasn't anyone informed him he has to be at least 15 to drive legally? Poor little guy. He tries so hard.

Hef does need a booster seat, but isn't he old enough to drive on private property?

Congratulations on the promotion! Enforcing policies that others haven't is never fun; perhaps mini shift starting meetings to refresh employees on basic policies would be a good thing--when people are hired one or two at a time something usually falls through the cracks.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Maybe it's time these girls grow up and start acting like women and taking their jobs seriously? Just a thought.

Good for you :) No one deserves it more. Don't worry about being unpopular. You're doing the right thing and it will come back and help you in the future, even more than it already has :)

Move over, Toonces: it's Hef the driving bunneh!

As to your work situation, this is a common scenario whenever someone gets promoted from within. People never seem to understand that a manager has a far greater responsibility than a regular worker, and is subject to far more scrutiny; if you don't enforce the rules, you're the one whose job is at risk. Stick to your guns and resist the temptation to let things slide just to show them you're still "one of the gang". Let them know that you're still their friend, but you have a job to do and you're going to do it the way it's supposed to be done. If they have a problem with that, it's their problem. Good luck!

Congratulations on the promotion! Hef is adorable in the car. How do you ever get him to pose like that? Good luck in the new job!

You Go HEF!

Well, good luck. It's easier to start tough and then back down a bit than it is to start easy and then try to be tough.

At first I think "Driving Miss Emily," but we all know who is really in charge, so "Driving Mr. Hef" is more like it.

Congratulations on the promotion.
